Help! I’m overwhelmed! I think I’ve gotten myself in over my head when even my notoriously good organizational skills are breaking down. It’s because of all good stuff—my column, this blog, Christmas preparations, college applications etc.—but I’m clearly falling down on the job here by not posting frequently enough….do I hear a new year’s resolution coming on?

It has been completely wild around here this week. Upon returning from our lovely, turkey-studded Thanksgiving, I was dumped into a frenzy of activity in preparation for not one but two videos, not one but two cocktail parties to prepare for and give (one of which was videotaped!) and multiple things to cook, recipes to write, and college apps to be sent.

A couple called for cream cheese frosting on top. Now to me, that turns them into a cupcake, and I’m really not a proponent of cupcakes for breakfast. Not that I don’t want a party going on up top…I most assuredly do! Some of them made mingy little things. Not good enough. I want a big, bold muffin….big enough, in fact, to keep them out of my hair until time for THE MEAL.

The other day we had some friends visiting from England and after considering all sorts of glamorous things to make for them, I decided that the perfect thing would be something they don’t get at home. I rustled up Felix’s favorite meatloaf, some mac ‘n cheese and green beans lickety-split and everybody was happy as can be, though, as our guests were leaving, Warwick turned to me and said, “What WAS that?” So, Warwick, here is what it was…
